About us
The goal of the Department of World Languages, Literatures and Cultures is to help students become proficient communicators and to help them understand the culture and literature of another country. Success in international relations, business, and industry is enhanced if we can understand the cultures of our world neighbors and communicate with them in their own languages. By studying languages and literature, you will broaden your perspectives and increase your opportunities for many different careers. As you learn to write and speak in another language, you will improve your ability to communicate in your native language and develop a deeper understanding of your own culture.
