Extracurricular Activities
In order to help Chinese language learning students to master Chinese, the Chinese Program now provides the students with various opportunities to practice their Chinese skills after class, such as a language partnership program with native Chinese speakers and a Chinese Table. Students are also encouraged to participate in the Chinese Students and Scholars Organization’s activities, such as the Chinese New Year Festival, the Mid-autumn Festival, and even sports games with Chinese students. We also help students who are taking Chinese to organize the Chinese Language and Culture Club (CLCC).
Each spring semester, the department of World Languages, Literatures and Cultures also holds a speech contest. Students, who are studying Chinese at elementary, intermediate and advanced levels, are strongly encouraged to participate.
