Congratulations to 14 students who got Chinese Minors (Chinese Minor started in fall 2011) in the fist group of the Chinese Program!

Several courses are designed to promote daily communication (including listening,Students perform and watch at the speech contest. speaking, reading, and writing Chinese) in a more idiomatic and native way. New courses facilitating business activities and Chinese culture are also highly recommended. Many students have gone to China to continue learning Chinese (with various study abroad programs) or even to further their careers after taking our courses here at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.

Over 1 billion people around the world currently speak Mandarin Chinese. This means that every day, roughly Students in traditional dress at the Mid-Autumn Festival.one out of every five people is speaking or communicating in this language. Now the world is witnessing an increasingly involved China in the international field. China has become the world’s second largest economy as well as a major trading partner for the United States. People who are knowledgeable about this great country, its language, its culture and its society will be in high demand in the years to come.

The Chinese language has become very important for international business.
