Courses in Russian Studies provide an in-depth study of the language, literature, history, and politics of Russia. Our students can achieve high linguistic competence inInterior of a church in Russia Russian and a broad perspective of Russian culture. With the ever-increasing importance of Russia on the world stage, Russian Studies and Russian language students can discover multiple professional opportunities at home as well as abroad in education, government, international business, the Foreign Service, law, journalism, and many other fields. Given Russia’s significance, students living in the United States today will find knowledge of the Russian language and of Russian culture and history indispensable and rewarding in today’s increasingly complex world. In addition, an increase in immigration of Russian speakers in recent years has opened up many new and rewarding opportunities for American speakers of Russian.
