Summer in Puebla, Mexico
Students in the U of A Summer Program in Mexico participate in a five-week Spanish Immersion Program offered at the ultra-modern campus of the Universidad Popular Autónoma del Estado de Puebla (UPAEP). The immersion experience integrates morning classes and coursework with Mexican family homestays; with afternoon workshops in Mexican film, dance, and cuisine and local excursions conducted by native-speaking UPAEP students; and with weekend excursions to sites of historical and cultural significance, including two days in Cuetzálan (a “pueblo mágico” of pre-Hispanic origins), four days in Oaxaca (known for its unique traditions and cuisine), four days at the Pacific bays and beaches of Huatulco, and 2 days in Mexico City, with its pulsating street life and famous pyramids.
