The Department of Foreign Languages is very proud of its fine faculty and their endeavors in teaching, research, service and administration.

Arabic
Professor Haydar has developed a strong Arabic language program.

Chinese
Jenny Xu continues to motivate and inspire students of the Chinese language.

Italian
Dr. Rozier remains one of the most popular teachers on campus in her Italian program.

Japanese
Dr. Fukushima and his assistants continue to build the Japanese program.

Russian
Professor Tucker runs our well established Russian language program.

Classics Faculty: Professors Levine and Frederick lead the way in their award winning classics program. Soon, a new colleague will join them, Professor Alex Pappas, to further add to the many fine things happening in our Classics program.

French Faculty: Professors Arenberg, Christiansen, Comfort, Davis, Eichmann and Jones maintain a highly effective French program that has produced numerous teachers and professors of the French language. They offer courses that include French Literature, French Film, culture and civilization and so on...

German Faculty: Professors Condray, Hoyer and Ricker have established an ever-growing German BA and MA program. They offer courses that range from German literature to Business German, basic language coursees and so on. They also support both work and study abroad programs.

Spanish Faculty: Our Spanish faculty are greatly involved in language courses that support several degrees and programs including Spanish Literature, Comparative Literature and Latin American Studies. Professors Bell, Bernard, Pritchett, Restrepo, Ruiz, Turner, and Villa-Lopez are certainly a part of a rock solid program!!
