I hate science class! I hate English class! I hate math! How many times have you heard yourself saying the same thing? When it comes to school, no one person likes every required subject. In the United States we have elective courses and extracurricular activities for balance. In this unit you will study the basic Mexican school system, particularly the secundaria and preparatoria levels. Then, you will learn what options Mexican students have to balance out those dreaded required courses. The unit will be divided into four major sections:

Before each section you will be asked to brainstorm what you already know about the topic so that you can truly appreciate the similarities, as well as the differences between American schools and Mexican schools. Within each section you will learn new vocabulary words. You will perform activities that will reinforce the vocabulary and will challenge your listening and writing skills. And, of course, you will learn about some of the culture of Mexico!
