HIGHER EDUCATION LEADERSHIP PROGRAM


GRADUATE ASSISTANTSHIPS


A
ll students in the Higher Education Program who are not employed in higher education or related field are required to obtain a graduate assistantship be employed full time in the field of higher education
. These assistantships offer competitive stipends ranging from $7,500-$12,000 for 9-12 months and include the payment of both in-state and out-of-state tuition. Miscellaneous fees of approximately $200 per semester are the responsibility of the student. Many of the assistantships are continued during the summer months. Several assistantships in Residence Life include an apartment and board. Assistantships are competitive. Selection and appointment are dependent upon full admission to Higher Education or related programs. Final selection of graduate assistants is determined by the office in which the position is located. Interview dates for assistantships for Fall 2003 have tentatively been scheduled for late February, March, and April.


GRADUATE ASSISTANTSHIP POSITIONS

All positions include the benefits listed, plus a FULL WAIVER OF IN-STATE AND OUT-OF-STATE TUITION. There are also internship and practicum positions available in almost all offices with assistantships. Over forty graduate assistantships are available in the following areas/offices where approximately 15-20 positions are open each academic year for newly admitted Masters and doctoral students.

Office of Student Involvement and Leadership (campus activities) - 5 positions
