Driving Arkansas's Wine Trail

There are many different routes visitors can follow when driving Arkansas's Wine Trail. The primary route suggested below is the most direct and is very scenic. However, since some sections of this route are mountainous and curvy, it can take longer to get from one point to another than might be expected if estimating travel time based on distance alone. The alternate routes from Eureka Springs through the Northwest Arkansas area is slightly longer but the roads are not as winding and there are numerous points of interest to visit  in Northwest Arkansas.

(Note: All mileages are approximate)

Starting at Eureka Springs (Keel Creek Winery) to Altus (Chateau aux Arc, Wiederkehr Village, Post Familie Vineyards and Winery, and Mount Bethel Winery)

Most Direct (but very mountainous):
  • AR 23 south to I-40 (78 miles)
  • I-40 east to Exit 37  (2.2 miles)
  • Follow signs to area wineries

Alternate Routes:
  • US 62 west to Rogers (37 miles) or AR 23 to AR 12 to AR 45 to AR 412 to Springdale (41 miles)
  • I-540 south to Alma (67 miles from Rogers; 56 miles from Springdale)
  • I-40 east to Exit 37 (25 miles)
  • Follow signs to area wineries
Altus to Paris (Cowie Wine Cellars)
  • US 64 west to Ozark (5.4 miles)
  • AR 309 south to Paris (18 miles)

Paris to Hot Springs (The Winery of Hot Springs)

  • AR 22 east to Dardanelle (34 miles)
  • AR 7 south to Hot Springs (67 miles)

When planning a trip to Arkansas's wine country, visitors may decide some of the wineries are close enough together to allow adequate time to visit each of them in a day or a weekend. However, the distances involved make it difficult to visit all of Arkansas's wineries in a 1 to 2 day trip. Planning an extended visit or multiple trips to Arkansas's Wine Country will allow visitors to enjoy each of the wineries as well as seeing other sights offered by the three regions of Arkansas's wine country.
