The MORRIS-OLDRIDGE PLAN for complete vineyard mechanization utilizes over 40 machines and/or attachments that allow for mechanization of the 12 most common trellising systems in the grape-producing regions of the world.  Each system is a package, with the success of each operation dependent upon the previous operations having been done properly.  Research has shown that utilization of these systems, while being less costly than hand labor, can improve fruit composition and quality.   Maintaining the high quality of the fruit is absolutely essential for the development of successful value-added products.

A patent on The Morris-Oldridge Plan, is the property of the University of Arkansas.  Vineyard operators all over the world have expressed a high level of interest in the systems.  These systems will allow the state and regional grape industry to produce high quality, value-added products and remain competitive on a  local, national and global basis.
