Arkansas Magazine Study Abroad Photo Contest
The Arkansas Alumni Association is hosting a photo contest for UA studemts and recent graduates who have participated in a UA-sponsored study abroad experience since 2008.

Pre-vet Animal Science major Kyndl Brunson -- Scotland
Kyndl Brunson participated in a six-week summer research internship at the University of Edinburgh Royal School for Veterinary Studies.

Hospitality major Paige Buchanan -- Switzerland
Paige Buchanan spent five weeks studying the hospitality industry in Europe, earned six hours of credit and climbed the Alps.

Interior Design major Shaina Armstrong -- Italy
Shaina Armstrong participated in the spring semester study abroad program at the UA Rome Center.

Horticulture major Paul Sandefur -- Scotland
Paul Sandefur completed a summer internship at the Scottish Plant Explorers Garden in Pitlochry, considered the gateway to Scottish Highlands.

Poultry Science major Julie Wilcox -- Ireland
Julie Wilcox completed courses in the visual culture of Ireland during her enrollment at the University of Limerick.

Nutrition/Dietetics major Julia Johannesen -- Belize
Julia Johannesen completed in a four-week community service project in Belize where students planted five crops in a garden and provided vegetable production and marketing education in the classroom.

Poultry Science major Kristen Byrne -- Scotland
Kristen Byrne worked under the direction of Dr. Lutz Bunger, leader of the Growth Genetics, Animal Breeding and Development Team at the Scottish Agricultural College.

Animal Science (pre-vet) major Kameron Sullivan -- Scotland
Kameron Sullivan worked with the Animal Health Group at Scottish Agricultural College's animal research location at the Bush Estate.

Animal Science (pre-vet) major Helen Wicks -- Scotland
Helen Wicks was one of three pre-vet animal science students who participated in summer research internships at the Scottish Agricultural College in Edinburgh.

Dietetics major Stacy Rahat -- Scotland
Stacy Rahat, a senior majoring in dietetics in the UA School of Human Environmental Sciences, completed a summer research internship in nutrition at Queen Margaret University near Edinburgh, Scotland.

Graduate students and seniors in agriculture disciplines, engineering and physical sciences with an interest in biomaterials for food and non-food use should consider the semester and 2-week study opportunities in Europe and U.S. Students can apply for summer, fall and spring programs with partial expenses paid.

Bumpers College students have a unique opportunity to explore the agriculture, natural resources and culture of Brazil through a new student exchange program with universities in Brazil.
