“The most exciting aspect of my study abroad experience was meeting new people and making life friends from around the world,” said Shaina Armstrong, a senior majoring in interior design in the School of Human Environmental Sciences. She participated in the spring semester study abroad program at the UA Rome Center, located near the famous Piazza Navona. All courses were taught in English by UA faculty.
“I studied architecture, art and visited structures all over Rome,” Armstrong said. “The entire program was a wonderful and great experience. I certainly recommend the program to other students.”
In addition to class lectures and field trips, Armstrong said she had the opportunity to travel on weekends to cities throughout Italy, including Florence, Venice and Hadrian’s Villa.
“This study abroad program gave me the opportunity to see the world and learn the culture through travel,” Armstrong said.
A graduate of J.A. Fair High School in Little Rock, Armstrong received the Richard S. Locke Endowed Scholarship for Study Abroad to help finance her travel expenses.
