Jacob Adler's interests include social and political
philosophy, philosophy
of law, ethical theory, applied ethics, and modern philosophy,
especially
Spinoza. He has published papers in Pacific Quarterly, Archiv
fur Geschichte der Philosophie, and other scholarly journals. His
book
on punishment, The Urgings of Conscience was published by
Temple
University Press (1992) and he is now working on a book on
Spinoza.
