Dr. Janine Parry
Associate Professor and Arkansas Poll Director
Janine A. Parry (B.A., Western Washington University, 1992; M.A., Washington State University, 1994; Ph.D., Washington State University, 1998) is an associate professor and Director of the Arkansas Poll. Parry worked as a legislative aide in the Washington State Senate and served as a Graduate Fellow in the Office of Former Speaker of the House Thomas Foley in 1993. She has published articles in Political Behavior, State Politics and Policy Quarterly, and Social Science Quarterly among other outlets and she co-edited Readings in Arkansas Politics and Government. Her teaching and research interests include state politics and policy; Arkansas and southern politics; polling and public opinion; elections and participation; and gender, politics, and policy. She was awarded Fulbright College’s Master Teacher Award in 2002 and the university-wide Alumni Association Award for teaching and, separately, service in 2005. In 2008, she was appointed to a three-year term as co-director of the Teaching and Faculty Support Center at the University of Arkansas.
