The Department of  Poultry Science Banner

The poultry science department and the Center of Excellence for Poultry Science include a complex of teaching, research and extension facilities at the Arkansas Agricultural Research and Extension Center and the John W. Tyson Poultry Science Building on campus. The department provides the curriculum for B.S., M.S. and Ph.D degree programs.

Taped interviews of thirty-nine Arkansans considered to be pioneers of the poultry industry are available for viewing, by appointment, at the John W. Tyson Poultry Science Building on the Fayetteville campus. The interviews are the result of an oral history project funded by the Arkansas Poultry Federation Board in 1986 to represent the history of the poultry industry. View list of interviews. Poultry Science immunologist invited to participate in vitiligo road map Gisela F. Erf has been invited to participate in the vitiligo road map, a newly developed program of the National Vitiligo Foundation, because of her research in the field of vitiligo. Erf is holder of the Tyson Professorship in Avian Immunology in the Division of Agriculture's Center of Excellence for Poultry Science.


BBQ Team Participates in Festival. The Center of Excellence for Poultry Science competed in the BBQ cookoff during the Poultry Federation's 50th Annual Poultry Festival. The BBQ team included: John Marcy, James Denton, Jon Moyle, Keith Bramwell, Douglas Yoho, John Pruett, Cesar Coto, H.L. Goodwin and Alvin Phelps.


Center of Excellence for Poultry Science provides course work for culinary certification
Ten product developers from Tyson Foods attended a 40-hour, hands-on culinary course May 11-15 at the Center of Excellence for Poultry Science.
