Dr. Byung-Whi Kong received his B.S. degree in Animal Science from Korea University in South Korea and M.S. (Molecular Cell Biology) and Ph.D. (Molecular Virology) degrees in Animal Science in 2005 from the University of Minnesota. He did post-doctoral research at the University of Minnesota and joined the Center of Excellence for Poultry Science in August, 2006. He is also a faculty member of the Cell and Molecular Biology Graduate Program.
Dr. Kong’s current research focus is on the host-virus interactions and genetically engineered vaccine development to prevent avian infectious viruses.
