Rural Sociology Information and Data Effort (RSIDE)

The Rural Sociology program at the University of Arkansas is involved with the Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station and works closely with the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service to provide rural data and information to policymakers, researchers, and the general public.

The Rural Sociology Information and Data Effort (RSIDE) is the Internet-based distribution of related reports and data presentations produced in whole, or part, by the Rural Sociology program, including the Rural Profile of Arkansas.

Research and Teaching

The Rural Sociology program is also dedicated to research and teaching focused on the social, economic, and environmental aspects of rural life throughout the world. It offers a Master of Arts degree in Sociology with a formal concentration in Rural Sociology. The program is also involved with the Environmental Dynamics (ENDY) Ph.D. and Public Policy Ph.D. programs.

The Rural Sociology program at the University of Arkansas is housed in the School of Human Environmental Sciences in the Bumpers College of Agriculture, Food, and Life Sciences.
