Academic
Study Skills Tools: informative and
succinct tools to teach participants how to be a successful
UA student. We offer these tools through study skills
packets, websites, and DVDs. Topics include Being Successful
and Taking Great Notes in the Classroom, Reading a Textbook,
Actively Studying, Managing Your Time and the Demands
of Life, Mastering Test-Taking, and Preparing for Final
Exams. SSS participants can also make Study Hall agreements
with their SDS to study within the Enhanced Learning
Center to ensure appropriate time is spent studying
for courses.
Tutorial
Services:
offered in a one-on-one and group setting on an as-needed
basis. SSS participants have the opportunity to receive
these free services for their historically difficult
courses including English, Foreign Language, Math, and
Science. Participants should visit with their Student
Development Specialist for details.
High-tech
Computer Lab Facility: a technologically
advanced resource for SSS participants provided within
the UA Enhanced Learning Center. Because SSS offices
are located within the ELC, participants will have easy
access to this state-of-the-art computer lab. This facility
offers the latest equipment and applications, modern
furniture, and an on-site lab operator to assist participants.
For added convenience, SSS participants will be able
to checkout laptops for two-hour increments during ELC
hours of operation, allowing them to access and acquire
a basic level of technology skills.
