Demetrius Richmond - Making it Happen

Hailing from Memphis, TN, Demetrius D. Richmond is a new Student Affairs professional with a passion to serve students. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communication/Telecommunication from the University of Central Arkansas. After spending a year off, Demetrius received his Master’s of Arts in Communication at the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville.

It was during his graduate assistantship experience that he developed a commitment to working with and developing students in higher education. Some of his major research interests are African-American Retention and Programming at Predominantly White Institutions, Intercultural Communication in Student Affairs, and African-American Studies. He immediate plans are to pursue his P.H.d. in Higher Education or Urban Education, and accept a mid-level position in Student Affairs that will allow him to serve students as an administrator and college instructor.
