Original Programs Over for Summer

UATV's original programming will return Fall 2008. Be sure to check here for updates on when we'll start making your favorite shows again! Thanks for visiting UATV Online.

University of Arkansas Television

UATV began in 1995 as the television station by and for the students. It serves to both teach students to become exceptional journalists and to produce news and entertainment content that can’t be found anywhere else. The Fullbright College Television Center, in the basement of Kimpel Hall, is the home of the UATV studio, control room, and master control room. Students are capable of producing programming equal in quality to local affiliates, thanks to a state-of-the-art video switcher, graphics generator, and other professional equipment. UATV is a 24-hour television station, seen in all of Northwest Arkansas on Cox Cable 14. In 2007, Cox made a 14,000 gift to the station, allowing for the purchase of an automated broadcast system to keep UATV on cable full time.

Volunteering Information

Any student currently enrolled in the University of Arkansas, regardless of major, can volunteer for UATV. No TV experience is needed. Most new volunteers end up working on programs the moment that they walk through our door. Volunteering allows journalism students experience with the equipment and a chance to meet the staff. Volunteers also have the opportunity to move into a paid position after a certain period of time.

If you are interested in volunteering for any of our shows, simply show up at least half an hour before the show is taped and/or shown live. You can reference our Schedule page for a listing of all of our show times. If you have any other questions about UATV or its programming, e-mail UATV Station Manager Janet Breda at uatv@uark.edu.
