From ancient China to Central Asia, the music of the Tang Dynasty had been lost to the ages until ethnomusicologists at the University of Arkansas brought their sounds back to life. Rembrandt Wolpert and Elizabeth Markham devised transcriptions, interpretations and preservations of the music that had been written a millennium earlier.
