| Straps are attached to the whale's tail just above the fluke. A series of straps and pulleys are then used to pull the whale from the water. This view shows the straps anchored into the ice. The whale has just been pulled from the water. One must be very careful not to stand behind the straps. They can be very dangerous if they break! | ||||||||
