Pat Is a high yielding soft red winter wheat with excellent test weight and a broad adaptability that should fit most production systems in Arkansas and throughout the Mid-South. Pat is an awned, white chaffed variety which averages 36-38 inches tall and has no lodging problems. It has excellent winter hardiness and good straw strength. It is resistant to soilborne wheat mosaic, wheat spindle streak mosaic and stripe rust; moderately resistant to leaf rust; moderately susceptible to septoria leaf blotch, and susceptible to powdery mildew. Results from the USDA Soft Wheat Quality Lab indicate that Pat has excellent milling characteristics and excellent baking characteristics.
