This document contains the detailed specifications of the mainframe equipment that is to be assembled at the BELL 108 Cold Site. These specifications do not necessarily match those of the equipment at the primary site at the Administrative Services Building. Some concessions have been made to accommodate the limited space at the Cold Site. And in some areas some simplification and consolidation of functions has been done.

Before procuring the equipment listed below, the Technical Coordinator may wish to identify equipment that was salvaged from the destroyed primary site and that is still in operational or repairable condition. Some cost savings may be realized by using salvaged equipment, but please be aware that hidden damage, such as hard drive head crashes, may difficult to spot and may delay the recovery process if a lengthy repair is needed. It may be advisable to go ahead and order new equipment to replace any unit that is in questionable shape.
