Evidence of Financial Support

Admission will not be considered without specific documentation of funds available for transfer to the U.S. to cover each year of study at the University.

Foreign students can not secure off-campus employment in the U.S. without specific authorization from the Immigration and Naturalization Service. Such authorization is never granted during the first year of study and is granted in limited situations thereafter. Unauthorized employment is grounds for deportation. Other than UA graduate assistantships, U.S. employment may not be intended as a means for financial support.

Students from countries which cannot guarantee timely payment of fees due to either severe exchange control restrictions or delinquency in payment of government scholarships may be required to submit an advanced payment for tuition and fees before an I-20 will be issued.

Financial Aid

No financial aid is available for undergraduate international students. Undergraduate international students are eligible to apply for selected scholarships and tuition advantage programs. For more information visit the scholarships page.

There are no financial aid or scholarship programs for graduate international students. However, some departments do offer graduate assistantships. These generally are not available to first year students. Applicants with exceptional academic credentials and excellent proficiency in English who wish to apply for an assistantship must contact the appropriate department chairperson for further information.
