SEVIS PROCESSING FEE

Persons applying for a student visa must pay a SEVIS processing fee (I-901 fee) of USD $200 (F-1) or $180 (J-1).

Important Information for persons Applying for J-1 and J-2 Visas

To be eligible for admission consideration, international graduate applicants should possess a four-year first degree with a least a 3.0 overall grade point average on a four- point scale on the last two years of coursework from a recognized institution.

THE APPLICATION PROCESS

A checklist is provided for the steps to the application process at the University of Arkansas Graduate School.

  • A Graduate School Application for Admission. You may apply on-line, or download the printable application here.
  • Application fee of $50.00. Check or money order must be drawn on a U.S. bank and made payable to the University of Arkansas.
  • Two copies of officially certified translated and untranslated academic records or marksheets with degree confirmation. Please note that we need at least 3.5 years or seven semesters of coursework of a four year program to complete a credential evaluation.
  • Statement of Interest, letters of recommendation, and standardized test score (GRE UofA institutional code = 6866, MAT UofA institutional code = 2302) if required by the department for your degree program. Check requirements here.
  • Send a photocopy of the name page in your passport. It is critical that your name in our records match your passport exactly. If you have not yet obtained a passport, please send a photocopy of your national ID card.
  • Official IELTS or TOEFL scores sent directly from ETS. Our institution code is 6866. The TOEFL is waived for applicants who have earned a U.S. master’s degree. Most departments offer conditional admission to students seeking to enter our intensive English language program prior to academic coursework.
  • Summary of Educational Experience form
  • Supplemental and Financial Information form. Even if you are applying for a Graduate Assistantship, at least complete side one and sign side two of the Supplemental and Financial Information form. The information you provide will be used to issue the I-20 or IAP-66 form should you be admitted.

When your application packet is complete, it will be evaluated and forwarded to the academic department for the admission decision. The process could take six to eight weeks depending on time of year.
