Education:

B.E. – Electrical and Electronics, Kuvempu University, Karnataka, India (Jan. 1997).

M.S. – Electrical Engineering, University of Arkansas (Expected: Dec. 2005).

Experience:

Mar. 1997 – Aug. 2003: Electrical Engineer, System Planning Department, Nepal Electricity Authority, Kathmandu, Nepal. Duties included planning of National transmission system and distribution system reinforcements.

Spring 2004 – Present: Technical Assistant; Optoelectronics and Nanostructures lab. University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, AR.

Current Research:

Carbon nanotubes are unique structures whose discovery a little over a decade ago has opened up a whole new era of interest and research into the fields of nanostructures. Their remarkable mechanical and electronic prope rties have huge potential for applications in various fields; such as reinforcement of polymers, ceramics and metals, carbon fuel cells, semiconducting devices (diodes, transistors) and giant video displays. In our lab, we are researching upon their electronic prope rties, before and after they have been subjected to proton irradiation at various doses of concentrations. We are using Raman and UV-vis-NIR spectroscopy to find changes in the electronic characteristics of single wall carbon nanotube (SWNT) and carbon quantum dots.

Goals:

Continue to research upon characteristics of carbon nanotubes. Also, interested in processing and fabrication of semi-conducting devices.

Extra Curricular:

Soccer, Biking, Hiking.
