Testing Services at the University of Arkansas offers both the national and residual (institutional) versions of the ACT exam.

REGISTRATION: You must register with the testing company by picking up a registration packet from Testing Services in Hotz Hall, filling out the registration form and mailing it to ACT in Iowa City, IA, by the postmark deadline. Late registration is possible for an additional fee. Standby testing is also available for those examinees who miss the late registration deadline. You may also register directly on the ACT web site with a major credit card at www.actstudent.org.
TEST FEES: The fee for this exam is $28.00, Late: $48.00, Stand by: $65.00.

RETEST RESTRICTION: You may take the national ACT on any test date it is offered. There is no waiting period between national exams.

Registration for the residual ACT will take place in Testing Services, 700 Hotz Hall. If you are unable to come to our office to register, you may print the registration form and mail it to us at Testing Services, University of Arkansas, 700 Hotz Hall, Fayetteville, AR 72701. We must receive the fee for this exam ($45 payable to University of Arkansas) along with the registration form by the deadline for the date you choose.

RETEST RESTRICTION: You may take the residual exam only once in a 60-day period; retest scores will be canceled automatically if the 60-day limit is violated. No refund will be made for such cancelled tests. There is no waiting period between national and residual exams.
SCORE REPORTING: Scores are released only to the Office of Admissions for admission and advising purposes at this University. Individual score reports are not produced for students and cannot be reported to other institutions, however scores will be sent to your UofA e-mail address. If this e-mail is not received within three days after testing, students may contact the Office of Admissions at 575-5346 or stop by Hunt Hall, Rm. 232. Individual scores will also be printed on the advising sheet that each student receives during orientation.
CALCULATORS: You may use any four-function, scientific, or graphing calculator, unless it has features described in the Prohibited Calculators list. Models on the Calculators Permitted with Modification list may be used only if you modify them as indicated.
Prohibited Calculators
These types of calculators are prohibited:
a. Texas Instruments: All model numbers that begin with TI-89 or TI-92
b. Hewlett-Packard: hp 48GII and all model numbers that begin with hp
40G, hp 49G, or hp 50G
c. Casio: Algebra fx 2.0, ClassPad 300, and all model numbers that begin
with CFX-9970G
d. calculators with built-in computer algebra systems
e. pocket organizers
f. handheld or laptop computers
g. electronic writing pads or pen-input devices—The Sharp EL 9600 is permitted.
h. calculators built into cellular phones or other electronic communication devices
i. calculators with a typewriter keypad (keys in QWERTY format)—Calculators with letter keys not in QWERTY format are permitted. Calculators Permitted with Modification These types of calculators are permitted, but only after they are modified
as noted:
a. calculators with paper tape—Remove the tape.
b. calculators that make noise—Turn off the sound.
c. calculators that can communicate wirelessly with other calculators—Completely cover the infrared data port with heavy opaque material, such as duct tape or electrician's tape (includes Hewlett-Packard HP-38G series and HP-48G)
d. calculators that have power cords—Remove all power/electrical cords.
