ELIGIBILITY: The Multistate Professional Responsibility Examination (MPRE) is required for admission to the bars of all but three US jurisdictions. Passing scores, which are established by each jurisdiction, currently vary between 75 and 85. Applicants are advised to contact the jurisdictions directly for the most current information regarding passing scores, rules, and policies. TEST DESCRIPTION: The Multistate Professional Responsibility Examination (MPRE) is assembled and administered by ACT, Inc., on behalf of the National Conference of Bar Examiners as partial fulfillment of the requirements for application for admission to practice law in jurisdictions that require the MPRE. The examination is administered three times per year at established test centers across the country. The Multistate Professional Responsibility Examination (MPRE) is a fifty question, two-hour, multiple-choice examination administered three times each year. Questions concerning your MPRE Application must be directed to the MPRE Application Department at 319-341-2500.

FEES: For applications that are mailed, all fees must be paid in the form of a personal or business check, cashier's check, money order, or certified check, payable in U.S. dollars and drawn on a bank in the United States. Checks should be made payable to the National Conference of Bar Examiners. Cash will not be accepted. Online registrations must be paid with a credit card (MasterCard or VISA). Application materials that include insufficient or improper payment will not be processed. ALL FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. For those applicants applying on or before the regular receipt deadline, the fee for the Multistate Professional Responsibility Examination is $55.00. For those applying after the regular receipt deadline, the fee is $110.00. Checks should be made payable to the National Conference of Bar Examiners.

ID REQUIREMENT: For examinees testing within their country of citizenship (American students) any government-issued identification such as passport, drivers license, state ID, and military ID are all acceptable. If you are not testing in your own country of citizenship, you MUST bring your passport in order to be tested.
