SAT
(Scholastic Aptitude Test)

Dear Colleagues:

The College Board is offering assistance to students and schools in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, and other states trying to recover from the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina. We want to share this information with you to be sure that it reaches all of the students who may need it.

Please be assured that, to help young people with their educational needs in the weeks and months ahead, we are developing program strategies to assist students, counselors, teachers, and administrators. We pledge to continue to find ways to work with you and your students to overcome the effects of this storm.

Please share the following SATŪ information with students whose lives have been disrupted by Hurricane Katrina:
  • Students registered for the October SAT can check the status of test centers and find additional information on the October Test Center Status page.
  • Students who were scheduled to take the SAT at one of the centers now closed can take the exam at any test center convenient to them. Find a list of centers in your area.
  • Test center/test date change fees will be waived for students who have already registered for the October SAT and who need to test elsewhere or later.
  • Standby fees will be waived for students displaced by the hurricane who arrive at a test center for the October SAT without prior registration.
If a student no longer has a photo ID to show for admission to a test center on test day, you can help by preparing a Student ID form. Download a Student ID Form and other SAT Resources.

SAT fee waivers are available for students displaced by Hurricane Katrina who are unable to access funds to pay registration fees. To request an additional supply of fee waiver cards, please call (866) 392-3017.

Students can contact SAT Program Customer Service at (609) 771-7600 to make arrangements for the October tests or if they have any questions.

Scores for this exam are accepted for admission to the University of Arkansas; however, this test is not administered by Testing Services. For information, please visit http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/sat/about.html
