Welcome to the webpage of the Kendo Club at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. Since there are so many other Kendo webpages out on the net, this page will be dedicated solely to the purpose of informing interested people about Kendo at the University of Arkansas. Included on this webpage are links to other sites describing Kendo in detail. Some of these sites give excellent historical and general information about Kendo. Those interested in the background of Kendo and its evolution should check out the links.

University of Arkansas Kendo is a member of the SouthWestern US Kendo and Iaido Federation, governed by the All United States Kendo Federation.

Announcements

• Jan 04, 2003 -- The Kendo Club at the University of Arkansas will stop meeting for practice and instruction as of the new year. The _student_ organization lacked students to help run and organize the club. Combined with the difficulty in accessing the facilities by community members, the former organizers felt the venture was un-productive. We will attempt to find a suitable place out in the community that is both affordable and large enough to accommodate a typical practice session. Until such a time, anyone still interested in practicing/learning Kendo is free to sign the guestbook and leave a point of contact in case something comes up in the future. We would like to thank everyone for their interest.
  
  
• Jun 11, 2003 -- I created a forum for varies topic discussions for Kendo. It is a very simple 3rd party online forum site. Lemme know what you think about it. I also added a guestbook. Please sign it! :)
• Apr 28, 2003 -- Trip to Dallas, TX, for Nabeshima Cup was a success. Hyun Kim won 3rd Place (pictures)!
• Aug 31, 2002 -- Fall and spring semester schedule confirmed with HPER. Check out any of the "schedule" links for exact times.
• Jan 23, 2002 -- Spring schedule for Kendo practice is confirmed.
• Aug 29, 2001 -- Fall schedule for Kendo practice is set. Check them out.
• May 21, 2001 -- Added pictures from the trip to Dallas. They're in the pics section. Summer schedule is set, same as last spring semester.
• Apr 24, 2001 -- Went to Nabeshima Cup Tournament and Testing in Dallas, Texas. We had lotsa fun. Will try to add pictures as soon as they are available.
• Jan 31, 2001 -- Added pictures from the trip to Colorado Springs. They're in the pics section.
• Jan 13, 2001 -- Spring schedule is set. It is the same as last semester. We will start meeting Jan 16, 2001.
• Dec 04, 2000 -- All is well. Practice continues as scheduled, barring any conplications. Practice will meet until HPER closes for winter break. Come by if interested, it is never too late to start. :)
• Oct 02, 2000 -- Kendo seminar on the weekend of the 14th of October in Colorado Springs. If interested, talk to Steve or An.
• Aug 31, 2000 -- Fall practice schedule confirmed! Check the schedule page.
• Aug 28, 2000 -- Fall practice time announced... sorta. We will meet for practice Tuesday (Aug 29) @ 5:30pm in HPER Room 320 to decide on a permanent fall schedule.
• Jun 08, 2000 -- Added summer schedule for Kendo practice.
• Apr 12, 2000 -- Added some pictures of the club members.
• Jan 23, 2000 -- Practice on Fridays are moved to 5pm instead of 4:30pm.
