Canvasback, Aythya valisineria.
October 26 to May 2. Uncommon migrant and winter resident. This species appears in the western Arkansas Ozarks on an annual basis, but sightings of even as many as a dozen birds are unusual. In this respect, the 24 males on Lake Fayetteville March 10, 1958, represented a high count.

Redhead, Aythya americana.
October 26 to April 19. Uncommon migrant and uncommon, irregular winter resident. The 16 birds, including males and females, at Lake Fayetteville on November 10, 1983, were part of a raft of waterfowl that included an estimated 200 scaup as well as other species of diving ducks. At Bob Kidd Lake, 20 were counted on November 18, 1986.

American Wigeon, Anas americana.
September 12 to April 24. Common migrant and uncommon winter resident. "Baldpates" appear regularly in the region and flocks of a dozen or so are not uncommon. However, few see as many as the estimated 300 on Lake Fayetteville March 24, 1956.
